Abstract :
Recent advances in computer based training have resulted in the wide-spread availability of computer managed instruction (CMI) systems for use in all educational endeavors. The author reports on the major features of computer managed instruction systems and their applicability for engineering education. In particular, the combination of ToolBook II Instructor and ToolBook II Librarian (both from Asymetrix Corporation) is discussed as a simple solution for creating computer based teaching materials and tests, and then deploying them over the Internet
