Abstract :
We develop a model for the forward link in IS-95 CDMA networks and evaluate its performance. Our shadowing model includes exponential decorrelation with spatial separation. Using Monte Carlo simulations we investigate the influence of soft handoff threshold, spatial user distribution, mobile speed, cell breathing and path loss exponent on the capacity, soft handoff overhead and load sharing
