Abstract :
A systematic design method for multirate filters which play an important role in sampling rate conversion techniques is proposed in this paper. Purpose of the proposed approach is directed toward circuit complexity reductions. A circuit complexity evaluating measure including quantization error effects is introduced. A transfer function is divided into three factors as follows: P1(z)P2(z)/ Q(zM). Optimum characteristics of these factors are discussed which minimize the above measure.
