  • Abstract
This paper identifies the impact of current and future laws, regulations, codes, standards and recommended practices affecting the specification, design, operation and maintenance of electric motors. The intent is to provide the engineer with a user´s guide to assure compliance. However, space does not allow for the itemization of details pertaining to these factors. In the future, engineers will need to keep current libraries of these materials and be aware of pending or proposed changes.<>
