Abstract :
Cellular communication has recently evolved towards data oriented channels with the steady increase of data throughput expected by users. The realization of the mobile Internet requires carefully planned networks and continuous optimization of parameters to achieve the highest efficiency. In most cases cell planning is done by considering the worst case scenarios. However there is an opportunity to increase the system capacity by optimizing network parameters such as Antenna tilts and CPICH (Common Pilot Channel) power both remotely and frequently. The moving hotspot model is considered to show the efficiency of the frequent optimization. The effect of different schedulers is also taken into account. It was observed that with adaptive optimization a considerable gain can be achieved in HSDPA throughput.
