Abstract :
Time spread multiple access (TSMA) is a reliable multiple access protocol used for mobile multihop wireless networks. By using deterministic transmission schedules generated via finite or Galois fields, the protocol guarantees successful packet delivery with no need for update even when the network topology changes. This paper presents a generalized analysis of TSMA, providing an efficient and accurate performance model to calculate the average system performance using TSMA. The results show that the performance of even the basic TSMA protocol is at least as good as slotted Aloha, but does not degenerate in the case of overload
