Abstract :
It is not possible in a short paper to summarise the contribution of mathematical modelling to the development of wave power devices (WPDs) and for this reason it is not attempted. Instead a slightly different perspective is adopted; one in which a paper on mathematical modelling does not contain any mathematics, nor does it mention specific devices, but instead considers the background, contribution and challenges associated with WPD modelling
