Abstract
Due to advances in digital electronics technology, active noise control (ANC) systems can be implemented to eliminate noise in a physical system, thus providing an alternative to strictly passive control methods. Two approaches to active noise control are robust and adaptive. In the work presented here, the robust control approach is applied to the design of a fixed linear controller for eliminating noise in a duct. The nominal model as well as the uncertainty description are derived by means of identification. A controller is designed, analyzed and tested in experiments
