Abstract :
This paper is concerned with the performance analysis of unslotted frequency-hopped packet radio networks with finite number of users. Networks with general inter-transmission policies are considered. The technique of joint probability generating functions leads to the derivation of exact closed form expressions for packet error probabilities in the case of Reed Solomon error-correcting codes. Numerical results indicate that, depending on the number of users, an optimum value for the throughput is achievable by selecting appropriate packet inter-transmission time
