Abstract :
The authors propose a model of a space-charge formation based on the Fuoss-Kraus model, of abnormal conductivity effects in dielectric liquids. It is assumed that reaction of association between ions and polar molecules results in a complex ion formation (tetraionic model). It is demonstrated that a bipolar space-charge structure can arise near the electrodes outside the diffusion layer (into a chemical reaction layer) and the thickness of the layer can be much more than εε0bU/σL, where b is average ion mobility, U/L is voltage per interelectrode spacing, and σ is conductivity
