Abstract :
In this paper we present a simple technique to separate sinusoids or narrow band signals using a recursive constrained adaptive line enhancer (CALE). This method does not employ intermediate converged solution of algorithms and hence, no prior knowledge of signal and interference strengths is required. When multiple sinusoids are applied to the CALE, the performance surface will be multimodal. In this case any gradient algorithm will adjust the CALE to the nearest minimum. In the present method, this principle of CALE is exploited to pass the desired sinusoid. Analytical and simulation results are presented to verify the performance of the CALE. Simulation results of a possible application ie., to extract the fundamental of a complex waveform in the presence of broad band noise are also presented.
