Abstract
The results demonstrate that elevated concentration of L-glutamate in vitro (1 mM) brings about serious damage of frog cerebellum neuronal net. Pathological changes were observed in molecular and granular layers correspondingly: swelling of boutons and spines in synapses of parallel fibres on Purkunje cells, desynaptization of these synapses (disconnection of boutons and spines, dark spine degeneration, decrease of active zones (AZ) of these synapses), enhancement of granular cell (GrC) clusterization leading to GrC pathological fusion, decondensation of GrC chromatin, swelling of glial cells. These pathomorphological changes can be the reason of cerebellum neuronal net information capacity decrease and are the basis of many diseases, such as: epilepsy, neurotrauma, mental retardation and others
