Abstract :
Multi-scale direct sequence ultra-wideband (MS/DS-UWB) is a new multiple access technique for UWB systems which utilizes the dyadic scaled orthogonal wavelets spread by direct sequence (DS) codes. It has dyadic scaled multi-band structure exposing the scalability of the spectrum. This paper presents the probability of error analysis for the MS/DS-UWB system for Nakagami-m small scale fading which is suitable for UWB sensor networks. The performance of a MS/DS-UWB is compared with a multi-processing gain (MPG) DS-UWB system. It is observed that the MS/DS-UWB outperforms substantially the MPG/DS-UWB scheme over a Nakagami-m fading channel.
