Real-time scheduling of material storage and retrieval operations

In a typical warehousing environment, material transfer requests enter a queue in real-time, and must be performed as quickly as possible. We introduce a new algorithm, based on spacefilling curves, to schedule operations, as they join the queue, so as to maximize processing efficiency.
