Abstract
Nonlinear optical devices such as electrically controlled optical switches, optically controlled optical switches, and optical bistable devices will be key devices for switching applications in future optical communication and information processing systems. Recent developments in LiNbO3 and semiconductor superlattice modulators and switches, etalon-type optical bistable devices, and ultrafast switches made of glass fibers and organic nonlinear optical materials are described
