  • Abstract
Presents a fault detection procedure for complex industrial systems. This approach is based on a structural and hierarchical decomposition of the diagnosis. Different methods are used to generate a fault indicator signal for each subsystem. The results are associated in order to take a local decision. A global decision, composed of local decisions relative to each sub-system is communicated to the human operator. The application of this concept to a waste water treatment plant is presented
