  • Abstract
Multi-channel impedance plethysmography signals were recorded using 16 pairs of sensing electrodes regularly placed around the leg. The plot of the data against angular position revealed 3 domains separated by lower amplitude regions. In these domains the signal is mainly due to the contributions of the 2 arteries neighboring the sensing electrodes. As these 3 regions were clearly distinguishable in the raw data, it is expected that a specific signal processing technique should enable the determination of the individual responses of leg arteries. Furthermore, the analysis of the recorded data leads to the conclusion that the 3 leg arteries have different time responses during cardiac cycle
