Abstract :
This paper outlines the use of new tools in the design of electronic circuits. The techniques are illustrated using simple circuits. Simulation of these circuits is done with Saber software. The aim of the simulation is, apart from circuit performance evaluation, the identification of components which have a critical influence on the circuit performance and whose tolerance spread could have adverse effects on manufacturing yield. The results of the simulation are applied to robust design techniques. Using these techniques, the design is optimised and more robust. This should result in a more reliable circuit, and provides an improved manufacturing yield
