Abstract
Video media is an extremely powerful teaching resource for engineering education. It provides near-live experience to the students. Students can understand the concepts very well if teaching is supported by appropriate videos. Creating an educational video is a complex and time consuming task. However, with the availability of various software and hardware platforms it is possible for a teacher to create his own videos. This paper discusses how a teacher can easily create educational videos using available tools with relatively less resources and a little training. The paper explains the methodology, which we have been using successfully at our institute, for creating educational videos. This methodology is useful for an individual teacher or an institute to create good quality video resources those could be placed on the streaming server for campus-wide access.
