Abstract
Modal analyses are integral parts of control system analyses. Many of these types of computations are computation intensive even for small systems. For large systems, there are no generally accepted algorithms for modal analysis. Such algorithms are still subjects of research. In this paper we consider one family of modal algorithms and discuss their implementations on a particular vector/parallel computer. Simple examples are used to illustrate some of the key considerations.
