Abstract
The Nakagami fading model is becoming more prevalent in performance analysis and other studies related to mobile radio communications. Fade statistics is studied for the Nakagami fading model. Closed form expressions are given for the rate of occurrence of fades, as well as the average time duration of fades and interfades. Approximations for these quantities are also deduced for some diversity reception schemes
