Abstract :
In factory automation contexts, the localization is an important issue to be considered in order to help industrial monitoring processes, at different layers. This paper shows the study of an innovative localization platform, for industrial environments, based on the IEEE 802.11 technology. The platform can be easily implemented inside an existing communication architecture, introducing several Wi-Fi sensor nodes on the mobile end-devices monitored, and a simple controller node to manage positioning information.
