  • Abstract
In this report the authors are trying to locate the conformational changes in membrane proteins, the voltage-gated K channels of skeletal muscle membrane, during exposure to a high voltage electric shock. Studies of the effects on channel functions correlated to protein structural residues extra- and intra-cellular, as well as intramembrane imply that for the narrowest pore the selectivity filter may be the most sensitive to the applied high voltage electrical field
