Combination of Research and Teaching in Software Engineering Education

By analyzing the current cultivation of the software talents and the demands of market, the problems of talent cultivation in software field in universities have been revealed. A proposed mode is to combine current research with software engineering teaching, that is, to use research projects in software engineering courses. The projects can be utilized in real process development training, giving students the opportunities to accumulate actual experiences of practical software development, to get more familiar with the procedures of software development, to master the implementation and documentation techniques of software development. Moreover, the software developed during the software engineering course immediately contributed to the research project. The mode of software engineering education is very successful and will be continued.
