Abstract :
In oral implantology, it is essential for the dentist to evaluate precisely and to keep track of the quality of the osseointegration of the implant to insure an optimal prognostic of the prosthesis. Unfortunately the visual radiographic inspection is often imprecise, subjective and qualitative. Osseointegration assessment, the proposed interactive system was developed to reduce the clinician intervention and to get a quantitative assessment of the bone loss. It relies on an edge detection algorithm to extract the bone contour with an appropriate calibration of the bone loss measurements using known dimensions of the implant itself
