Abstract :
Due to huge number of triangles are produced when CAD model converts to graphics model that making use of the current data interface, it can´t meet the requirement of real time rendering in virtual reality system. In this paper, a novel approach about CAD model´s simplification and conversion was proposed. The geometry data of CAD models was simplified by reduction algorithm and then converted to graphics level-of-detail model for VR system by OpenFlight API. It was proved that the model was better for virtual reality by the experiment.
