Abstract :
A lossless image compression technique, incorporating the cubic spline wavelet transform, predictive coding and arithmetic coding was developed for compression and reconstruction of magnetic resonance images. A compression ratio of 2.5:1 or coding rate of 3.1 bit per pixel (bpp), comparing favourably with other recently reported medical image compression is obtained
