Abstract
Ultra-broadband characteristics of photonics-assisted RF signal generation technologies have recently accelerated scientific and industrial applications of millimeter and terahertz waves. This paper will review and discuss how effectively the photonic signal generation schemes have been employed to enhance the performance of millimeter and terahertz-wave systems in wireless communication, spectroscopy, and imaging.
