Abstract
The finite dimension concept of stability radius for linear time-invariant initial value problems is extended to semigroups in Hilbert space. The connection between stability robustness and the sensitivity of the Lyapunov equation is established. The issue of robust stability in the face of bounded additive perturbations of the semigroup generator is addressed
