Abstract :
Electrical impedance tomography uses surface electrical measurements to image changes in the conductivity distribution within a medium. Image interpretation, however, is difficult because of the dependance of the imaged contrast on radial position, height relative to the electrode plane and conductivity contrast. The authors propose a linear model which relates image amplitude and measurement error to target volumes and calibrate the parameters of this model for their system. The system has a mean error of 6.0 ml for volume measurement in physiological conditions
