Abstract
Low-loss polymer materials incorporating fluorinated compounds have been utilized for the various optical devices. Since reliability issues concerning the polymer device have been resolved, the polymer waveguide devices adopted massively for commercial telecommunication systems. In this presentation, the recent status on the optical polymer devices´ reliability and long term stability study to ensure more than 20 years operation in the real field will be described.
