Abstract :
The self-assessment in autonomous computer-assisted language learning has been one of the most talked about issues over the recent years. A review of the literature enabled to generate 10 questions as questionnaire to investigate whether there was any change of opinions and attitudes toward the application of self-assessment in autonomous computer-assisted language learning in Southwest University. The reliability of the questionnaire was tested first, and then the questionnaire was distributed to students three times, before, during and after the application of self-assessment in autonomous computer-assisted language learning, namely, 1st week, 8th week and 16th week. And through the comparison of self-assessments´ score and score of final exam, a T-test was made to examine the effectiveness of self-assessment done by students. From the results of the questionnaire survey and T-test, it was beneficial and effective for students to make self-assessment in autonomous computer-assisted language learning. Limitations and possible further research were proposed in this paper.
