Routing options with IP

This paper discusses the options for carrying out multiservice support in a scalable way using the Internet protocol. The paper covers various options for architectures using purely routers, and hybrids using router/switches, and networks constructed partly out of routers and partly out of wide area switch fabrics. The paper summarises findings that obviate the need for any such hybrid architectures
