  • Abstract
Large-scale terrain real-time visualization has been widely used in GIS, virtual reality, games, simulation, etc. Based on existing terrain simplification algorithm, this paper proposes an algorithm for real-time visualization of terrain with data block partition, dynamic dispatching and view-dependant. This algorithm can implement the real-time fast walkthrough for large-scale terrain. With view frustum culling, triangle strip optimizing, cracks elimination and geomorphing, the efficiency and effect of the method are greatly increased.
