Abstract
The performance characteristics are given for a class of ALOHA systems that employ dynamic control strategies. These strategies are simple to implement and can yield lossless and stable operation for arbitrarily large user populations with aggregate arrival rates below e-1 packets/slot. Figures illustrate the transient and steady state performance, and depict the geometrical concepts used in proving stability.
