Abstract
In this paper we examine the problem of high-gain output feedback for linear time-invariant multivariable systems. More specifically, we do the following: ?? We study the possible set of multiple time-scale structures that can be assigned via high-gain output feedback control laws (We refer to this set as a set of ´achievable multiple time-scale structures´). ?? We propose a design procedure for a high-gain compensator which yields a closed-loop system with an arbitrary ´achievable multi-time- scale structure close to the desired in each time-scale. ?? We discuss the connections between the time-scale structure of a feedback system and its robustness with respect to external disturbances and uncertainities in the model of a given physical system.
