Abstract :
In this paper, a sliding mode controller based on the particle swarm optimization (PSO) method is investigated. The output performance of the control system is depending on functions of the sliding surface of the variable structure control system. The parameters of the sliding surface are determined by the particle swarm optimization method to provide best output performances. The PSO based sliding mode controller has been applied in an AC servo motor as examples to illustrate the use of our main ideas.
