Abstract
For a controllable and observable linear time-invariant multivariable control system there are several methods of constructing an output feedback matrix which assigns some, but not all, of the closed loop poles. Such procedures usually give no information on the location of the remaining poles. In this paper we show how some control over the unassigned poles can be achieved if attention is paid to the eigenvectors in the initial pole assignment.
