Abstract :
This volume contains the proceedings of the inaugural workshop of the IEEE Task Force on Network Science, IEEE NSW 2011. The Network Science Task Force itself was established in 2010 to bring together academics and practitioners working in diverse fields investigating, designing, developing and utilizing network science theories, techniques and tools. This builds upon earlier work and workshops by the IEEE Task Force on Information Assurance and the USMA at West Point.
