Abstract :
A Mobile ad-hoc network is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that are able to communicate with each other without any requirement of static infrastructure. In this paper we present an improvement in the basic destination sequenced distance vector routing protocol (DSDV) for ad-hoc network. It is an improvement in terms of delay in the DSDV routing protocol. The proposed algorithm also reduces congestion in the network. It requires minor change in the concept of the weighted settling time for the packet arrived on a node with same sequence number. It has been shown through simulation that delay without the use of weighted settling time for packets with same sequence number is less than the delay with the use of weighted settling time for the same packets.
