Abstract
Summary form only given. As information technology moves rapidly to an increasingly decentralized and collaborative environment (the Cloud) with rich interfaces to the physical world (the Internet of Things), we are facing a number of challenges in designing applications that should be monitored carefully with respect to security and privacy concerns. I will review the enabling technology and the design methods that can be used to master and control this new world and I will introduce some exciting new developments in the interface between brain and machines.
