Abstract
Point-to multipoint links, using the emerging Wi-Max (worldwide interoperability microwave for access) technology and operating at frequencies in SHF band is subjected to severe attenuation by rainfall. Experimental measurements of rainfall rate and rain attenuation cumulative distributions, as presented in this paper, are necessary to enlarge the data bank of measures in tropical climates, aiming at the modelling for the effects of precipitation in individual and convergent radio links.
