Abstract :
In early 2008 in Guangdong Province in northern Guangdong power grid suffered a serious frozen disaster. The disaster situations of northern Guangdong power grid such as collapse of towers, breakage of lines and damages of transforming equipments are discussed, and the causes and lessons from the frozen disaster damage are summarized. The analysis on the frozen disaster of North Guangdong power grid shows routing selection and improved permission design limit on the new and rebuilding lines should be focused. And effective anti-ice and removing-ice methods should be studied.
