  • Abstract
Offices in today´s world generally follow a principle, wherein the employees have workspaces earmarked for them. Some rooms are designated as conference rooms which can be booked for meetings, generally through mailing software. But of late, there have been increasing instances of offices which do not have workspaces designated for employees. Furthermore, such offices have conference rooms which cannot be booked through software. These offices function as satellite offices having a scaled down workforce. When workspaces are not designated to employees, and conference rooms cannot be booked through software, employees have to go around the office, looking for an empty workspace or an empty conference room. This would be a painstaking experience for employees, if it has to be done daily. This paper suggests a solution where an employee can find out empty workspaces and conference rooms on the mobile phone and straightaway go and occupy it. The framework suggested in this paper keeps track of all empty workspaces and conference rooms in the office at any given instance of time, and makes this information available to the employee. The solution is also cost effective because it uses Tags as an instrument to check in and check out an employee from a workspace or a conference room.
