Abstract :
In this paper, a new time-domain analysis method is presented for circuits with frequency-dependent elements. This method mainly deals with lumped circuits generated by the full-wave partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) technique or other similar techniques. It is proven in this paper that a linear time-invariant (LTI) system with frequency-dependent elements can be treated as a sum of several sub-systems with frequency-independent elements. By performing frequency spectrum analysis of the input signal, each sub-system´s input signal can be determined. The output signal for each sub-system can then be generated by a transient analysis using a SPICE-like solver. Based on such principle, the proposed method achieves a good performance in computation efficiency, causality and concision. Finally, an example is given for demonstrating the validity and effectiveness of the method.
