Abstract :
In order to reduce the effect of power quality problems on precise and complicated electrical equipments, on the basis of summing up the shortcomings of SVC, APF and other devices, this paper analyzes the advantages of universal power quality compensator in improving power quality. The basic structure and operation principle of universal power quality compensator is introduced. According to the thought of ordinates transformation in electrical machinery, a strategy of detecting voltage and current based on instantaneous reactive power theory is put forward and the algorithm of compensation signal is designed. The strategy could make the input current keep sinusoidal and electrical load get standard voltage. The results show that the strategy can reduce pollution of nonlinear electrical equipments to power grid, improve power quality and provide stable and reliable green power supply for electrical devices.
