Abstract :
This paper presented a method for measuring remanufactured roller defects based on scanning and ranging, and studied the fundamental of using scanned data for roller defects reconstruction. The hardware system of measuring roller defects was built. Based on LabVIEW, graphical programming tools, the modules for data collection and processing were designed. The three-dimensional shapes of roller defects were fitted by calling MATLAB Script node in LabVIEW. The three-dimensional boundaries of roller defects were also extracted. The point cloud data was imported into PRO/E for reconstructing solid model of roller defect in the end. The reverse reconstruction of roller defect needing repaired was realized.
