Abstract
This article addresses the problem of time-optimal motions for five-port valve pneumatic actuators. By using Pontryagin´s maximum principle, we formally demonstrate that the time-optimal motion of the drive occurs for bang-bang controls on the orifice. We find the switch times on the valve that will produce particular motion for the drive to a desired final position time-optimally
