Abstract :
The realization of the process bus communications based on IEC 61850 9-2 is introduced in this paper. With employing the bay-oriented principle of the IEC 61850 9-2, the merging unit model is built for the transformer differential protection. The proposed merging model not only supports the broadcast / multicast and unicast transmission services of the SV message, but also supports the access of the relevant sampling control block. The entire substation configuration process is based on the processing and transferring of the SCL document. To achieve the interoperability, the merging unit model has been designed with the capability of the SCL identification and data generation. Some typical research object is analyzed and the main issue in the merging unit application based on IEC 61850 is researched in detail, which has great significance to the engineering practice.
