  • Abstract
    A new intelligent design framework (IDF) approach that leverages knowledge-based engineering (KBE) techniques for optical backplane engineering is proposed. The framework enables the development of KBE systems for improving engineering design and processes utilizing intelligent systems. As a proof-of-concept, a prototype KBE system is built to demonstrate the IDF approach for optical backplane engineering.
